Services....

Traditionally your builder and his crew would build your home from the footings to the roof and most everything in between. These days this has changed with specialist contractors focusing on specific aspects of the build individually with basically not one company seeing the whole job through. John has kept to the traditional approach as much as possible ensuring everything comes together as it should. We can plan, organize, start and complete the entire job from an empty lot through to a home surrounded by landscaped gardens. Our specialty is the construction side of things but we have the best contractors on hand to provide for the multitude of other trades required these days for a usual build, ie: landscapers, plumbers, roofers, electricians, plasterers, painters, gardeners etc... John works along side all of his contractors throughout the entire job checking all is going to plan. Speaking of plans, even if yours are nothing more than scribbles on a notepad we're happy to discuss your ideas and introduce you to a suitable architect. John has been a Registered Master Builder since 1991, he is a trained assessor for B.L.I.T.O, First Aid qualified and conforms to all Site Safe requirements. Construction.... Regardless whether your building needs are domestic, commercial or industrial from a fence to a renovation, alterations or a complete build we have the resources to do the job. With extensive knowledge on most construction techniques we are able to build using most materials including timber, steel, brick, concrete, stone and even mud! We are also the local specialist and agent for HEBEL aerated concrete. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages and we can help you weigh up the costs/benefits.

Introducing HEBEL.... An alternative to traditional NZ building mediums CSR HEBEL is relatively new to New Zealand despite being used extensively elsewhere in the world for over 50 years. HEBEL is a quality high end building system competing with the likes of Oamaru Stone. Consisting of large blocks and panels made from aerated concrete (weighs approx 1/5 of normal concrete) it is great to work with & offers many benefits including unbeatable insulation & acoustic properties. Planning.... Whether you've got your architecturally drawn up plans hot in your hand or you've got little more than a few ideas whizzing around in your head contact us and have a yarn. We'll discuss your needs and offer suggestions to suit your requirements, property shape and Taupo's environment. We can put you in touch with a suitable architect and get you on your way.
The Earth Beneath.... We can scrape and shape that land, put down your house pad and get the drains and services in the ground. Essential to get it right, it's what your foundations are going to be built on!
Foundations.... Concrete pad, piles or poles. This photo is of a recent house pad incorporating gas fired under floor heating. Got to be done exact, especially when building with HEBEL.
Construction.... A jigsaw of nightmare proportions to some, we love it. It's our specialty, getting it right is the only option and gives us great satisfaction and makes the whole project therein run smoothly.
Plumbing.... Working closely with our plumber ensuring nothing gets missed or holes don't weaken any structures. We don't want to be pulling walls and floors apart once we're finished.
Wiring.... Glad we have a sparky! He keeps us up to date with all the latest technology so we can deliver you a home that will keep pace for years to come. Nothing worse than having extension leads running around your lounge because a possible power outlet location was missed.
Roofing.... Can be a feature of your home, highly visible and often an architectural work of art. Not the easiest things to put together but needs to be done right. Gabled, flat or curved, using Tin, Colour Steel, Long Run, Tiles or Slate roofing with PVC, Copper or Steel guttering and drains internal or external. The ceiling of this home we designed and built recently has a drop down folding stairway to allow easy access to the large attic storage areas.
Glazing.... Whatever you want, all the tints, double glazing to keep in line with new energy efficiency regulations. Need your drafty, leaking old wooden frames replaced with new aluminium?
Plastering.... The finish is what you'll be seeing when you're living in your house. A poor job here and you'll be staring at cracks in no time. We have close relationships with our suppliers of the various building products and they keep us well informed of the best finishes to use.
Flooring....	Here you can see HEBEL Soundfloor before and after. No creaking floors or thumps can be heard through this stuff. Hardwood floors, carpet, tiles, the lot.
Kitchens & Bathrooms.... Custom designed, built and installed for you. Good practical design is important to keep things functional. The right materials and techniques have to be used to ensure damp free living.
Fire Places, Features etc.... Have you got a finishing touch or custom feature you'd like created? Try us. Here's an example of custom fireplace we built using marble and HEBEL.
Exteriors.... As with interior plastering the exterior coating needs the right material for the right job. As well as this we can build your decking, balcony or re-clad your home using weather board or even stone, brick or HEBEL veneer.
Driveways.... Create a grand entrance to your home and property. A sweeping drive of cobble, textured concrete or asphalt guiding you to your door. Can greatly enhance your property, greatly increasing the value of your home while providing a welcoming to be proud of.
Landscaping, Gardens & Lawns.... Create an oasis on your back lawn. Pergolas, paths, patios, water features and ponds or even a pool with an outdoor barbeque. Get rid of your ugly tin garden shed or pump house and replace it with something custom built to complete your paradise.
Fences, Retaining Walls.... Totally transform the layout of your property, terrace a sloping lawn or raise a portion of a flat area. Build a HEBEL fence to create an effective barrier against noisy neighbours or traffic.
Outdoor Fireplaces, LPG enclosures etc....	We can create you a feature outdoor fireplace or BBQ area of grand proportions. Go the whole hog and make this the focal point of social occasions. Perhaps you just need an enclosure to hide away those gas cylinders, we can whip one up using HEBEL that far exceeds all fire ratings and regulations.
